No Super Markets here but plenty of
bazaars
Markets : New
Delhi offers numerous shops and markets located in many bazaars doted
all over the city. The main shopping centers are Connaught Place, Khan
Market (favorite of the ex-patriate community), Vasant Vihar (Modern
Bazaar), Lajpat Nagar (very Indian), Greater Kailash, South Extension
(last two offering designer stuff). Though most of the famous
International brands are here, still there is a limited selection of
imported goods.
Restaurants :
There are many specialty restaurants. The popular and better ones are
located in five star hotels. Psychologically they offer security to the
visiting ex-patriate on the hygiene and quality of food.
Clubs : Popular
clubs frequented by ex-patriates are the American Club, Chanakyapuri,
Delhi Golf Club. Should you desire to pursue a sport or even learn it
from scratch, it is relatively easy to do so. Our understanding is that
the entry costs are fairly low. |
